J Crew Ad causes a stir

This ad appeared on J Crew's website and highlights Jenna Lyons, J Crew's designer with her son, Beckett.  In the ad,  Beckett has his toes painted neon pink.  The ad goes on to quote Jenna saying, 'Lucky for me, I ended up with a boy whose favorite color is pink...'

I think critics are reading into this too much. This hysteria over the ad is a good example of why a blog like this for moms is important. I know many moms who have looked at their son at least once when they're muddy or acting nuts and thought, "Girls are so calm. One of those might be nice.". Then they crack up at their child. The ad captured that sweet and funny feeling.
